We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. This full-time position involves overseeing and executing essential grounds maintenance tasks at a golf course, ensuring the highest standards of turf care and landscape management.
Position Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will:
- Lead and participate in skilled grounds maintenance activities, focusing on the upkeep of greens, fairways, and other areas.
- Manage the application of fertilizers and plant protective chemicals, adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
- Supervise staff, including hiring and training new team members, to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water distribution across the course.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special projects such as renovations and seasonal preparations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and other relevant documentation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Candidates should possess a background in golf course maintenance or related fields, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Educational qualifications may include:
- A bachelor's degree in agronomy, horticulture, or a related agricultural field.
- An associate's degree in plant science or horticulture, combined with at least one year of golf course maintenance experience.
- A vocational certificate in landscape and turf management, along with two years of practical experience.
Special Requirements: A valid driver's license may be necessary for certain responsibilities.
