MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society seeks a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to serve as Assistant Chief of Psychiatry. This leadership role will provide administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership to ensure achievement of the organization's clinical and educational goals related to Psychiatry Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Department of Psychiatry, including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Clinical Leadership: Work with clinical and administrative leadership to improve processes and meet performance goals, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Contract Review: Review requests for contracts and determine resource acquisition, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise a wide variety of professional staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Clinical Work: Provide hands-on clinical work and oversight of patient care, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standards.
- Committee Participation: Participate in organizational committees and working groups, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen.
- Medical Degree: Must possess a degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school.
- Medical License: Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
- Residency Training: Must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty.
- Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Work Environment: This role involves working with acute and chronically physically and mentally ill patients, requiring periodic travel. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
