Primary Daycare Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Kohl's Child Development Center (CDC). As a Primary Daycare Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing daily care to an assigned group of children, collaborating with a co-teacher to execute classroom duties, and creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment based on the children's developmental needs and interests.
Key Responsibilities- Provide active supervision of children inside the classroom and outdoors, ensuring their health and safety at all times.
- Accurately track children in your care, maintaining accurate records and completing all necessary paperwork and licensing forms to ensure compliance with center policies.
- Use positive guidance techniques to redirect children as needed, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
- Partner with the co-teacher to bring in materials that foster new learning and play opportunities, providing children with autonomy over their learning.
- Create anecdotal notes based on observations, discussing child development with parents during regular meetings and utilizing a parent communication app to share learning goals and interests.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging learning environment, meeting age-appropriate requirements for charting basic needs of the child.
- Attend all staff meetings and required trainings to meet yearly continuing education requirements, maintaining confidentiality of children, parents, and co-workers.
- Assist with overall center operations when the classroom is in ratio, maintaining all state-required trainings, including preventing abusive head trauma, child abuse and neglect reporting requirements, First Aid, and Infant/Child CPR with AED training.
- Meet all Early Childhood Teacher requirements, including Introduction to Child Care Profession, Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher, and Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Development Certified or equivalent.
- Have at least 240 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a group child care center, as a licensed family child care provider, or in another approved early childhood setting.
- Treat all children, parents, peers, leaders, vendors, and business partners with dignity and respect, collaborating and communicating effectively to ensure the safety and needs of the children are met.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, staying calm and following policies and action plans in high-stress or emergency situations, demonstrating leadership behaviors and strong customer service skills.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Multiple years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
