Library Assistant

The City of Sheboygan is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Clerk to join our team at the Mead Public Library. As a Library Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our library by performing a variety of tasks related to library materials, patron services, and administrative duties.

• Check in and process returned library materials, including sorting and shelving them in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist patrons with basic informational questions and provide guidance on finding library materials.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical duties, such as data entry and filing.
• Report any library safety and security concerns to management or maintenance staff.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changes in the library profession.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; entry-level experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
