Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Truck Driver to join our team at Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for delivering merchandise to customer sites and providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety of associates, clients, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery and Customer Service: Load and deliver merchandise to customer sites as required, ensuring that loads are properly secured and trucks are balanced for safe transport. Unload merchandise in a safe and presentable manner, following customer directions and company policy.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Adhere to federal and company fleet maintenance standards, inspecting vehicles at the end of each workday and prior to leaving the yard. Document all inspections and report any mechanical or maintenance issues to management.
  • Paperwork and Documentation: Obtain and complete all necessary paperwork for delivery or pickup of merchandise, ensuring that all merchandise is properly accounted for on company documents.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service at customer sites, collecting cash on delivery if required.
  • Reporting and Safety: Report any damage to equipment, merchandise, or personal property immediately, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with three to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • License and Certifications: Valid commercial driver's license of the appropriate type and class, issued by the state of residence, and a valid medical card.
  • Skills and Abilities: Exceptional customer service skills, ability to operate a forklift, and knowledge of building materials products and lumber.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
