A certified Recreation Therapist plays a vital role in delivering services to patients within the Recreation Therapy Department's scope of service.

The Recreation Therapist is responsible for assigned patients' plans of care within the domain of Recreation Therapy.

Maintaining professional standards and providing care as described in the department's policies and procedures are essential responsibilities.

Reporting to the Inpatient Therapy Supervisor, the Recreation Therapist must be eligible for or currently certified as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation.

Additionally, licensure as a Recreational Therapist in the state of Virginia is required.
