We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist II Certified to join our team at Methodist Health System. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and obtain necessary instrumentation and supplies.
- Pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant during procedures.
- Assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room and preparation for the next case.
- Begin cleaning up the back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization.
- Place instruments back in the tray for transport to the Sterile Processing Department.
- Responsible for knowing and adhering to all policies and procedures, including count policy, universal protocol, and labeling of medications.
- Work with students and inexperienced staff on correct methods for passing and retrieving instruments during surgical procedures.
- High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a certified Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
- Basic Life Support certified.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Must have advanced competencies in a minimum of 3 specialties (specialties to be determined by each hospital).
