Job Title: Heavy Equipment Hauler

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Hauler to join our team at Carter Machinery Company. As a Heavy Equipment Hauler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of industrial/commercial parts and compact construction equipment to customer locations and Carter Machinery branches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport heavy equipment and industrial parts to customer locations and Carter Machinery branches
  • Ensure safe and efficient transportation of equipment, adhering to company safety regulations and state and federal laws
  • Operate a 3 or 4 axle configuration truck, conducting regular inspections to ensure it is in good working order
  • Secure cargo for transport using chains and/or binders, conforming to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Perform basic truck maintenance tasks and have mechanical aptitude
  • Interact professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Understand and explain problems and concerns related to deliveries
  • Operate a forklift and work additional hours as required by job and customer demand
Requirements:
  • Valid CDL B licensure required
  • Previous CDL driving experience, including rollback, medium duty, and heavy-haul equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations
  • Excellent driving record and ability to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds, including bulky objects
