We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practitioner to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Assume responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Stay up-to-date with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
- License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners.
- 3 years' related working experience.
This position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
