Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Waste Connections. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Complete Required Paperwork: Utilize fleet maintenance software to document parts usage, repair times, and complete required paperwork.
  • Review and Complete Repairs: Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and complete or assign repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Area: Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Perform Maintenance Work: Perform maintenance-related work as required, including ordering parts and keeping the shop organized.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate needed repairs or tasks effectively to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1+ year of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of a diesel tech program.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Possess a strong work ethic, good attitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
