Key Responsibilities- Perform general patrol and operational police duties, including making arrests and enforcing criminal codes and statutes.
- Assist in investigations and serve as a member of special teams or task forces.
- Carry a firearm and use equipment related to law enforcement functions.
- Process crime scenes and respond to emergencies.
- Provide emergency assistance and perform related work as required.
- Associate's degree in any field.
- No previous work experience required.
- 2 years' experience as a certified Police Officer, or 2 years' experience allowing for a combination of education and/or military service.
- Knowledge of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job.
- Ability to engage in stressful physical activities and react calmly in emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Specialized training or experience in law enforcement.
- Knowledge of emergency vehicle operations and first aid procedures.
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
