Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN

At the Good Samaritan Society, we are committed to providing high-quality care and services to seniors in a Christian environment. We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team on a PRN basis.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan. The goal is to improve patients'/residents'/clients' quality of life and ability to perform daily activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan.
  • Provide, monitor, and record therapy services to patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments.
  • Select, implement, and make modifications to therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with demonstrated competency levels, patient's/resident's/client's goals, and the requirements of the practice setting and/or state licensure.
  • Contribute to the process by exchanging information with and providing documentation to the occupational therapist about the patient's/resident's/client's responses to and communications during intervention.
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable about the patient's/resident's/client's targeted occupational therapy outcomes and for providing information and documentation related to outcome achievement.
Requirements
  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
  • When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities): Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Conforms to the supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided.
  • When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
