Substance Use Counselor

We are currently looking for a Master's level professional to serve as a Counselor in our Intensive Outpatient Therapy program. This role does not necessitate a license in WV and is open to individuals who possess a Master's degree in a human services discipline, including but not limited to psychology, criminal justice, nursing, sociology, social work, counseling/therapy, teacher education, and behavioral health. We welcome applicants with diverse educational backgrounds and experiences, subject to approval by the WV Board of Social Work.

Role Responsibilities:

As a counselor, you will deliver empathetic and holistic care utilizing evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to create and execute treatment plans that foster the successful establishment of habits aligned with a sober lifestyle.

As a counselor, your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Our full-time staff enjoy 6 paid national holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Additionally, full-time employees receive 56 hours of paid time off after 90 days of continuous employment and begin accruing vacation time.

Qualifications:

A license to practice is not mandatory for this position, although it is appreciated. Candidates should hold a Master's degree in Human Services (psychology, criminal justice, nursing, sociology, social work, counseling/therapy, teacher education, and behavioral health). Previous experience in mental health or addiction treatment is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
