Job Overview
Decker is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team as a Company Driver. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to operate regionally, hauling dry van freight with occasional refrigerated loads.

Key Responsibilities
As a Company Driver, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating a 2020-2024 Peterbilt 579, Volvo, or Freightliner Cascadia, governed at 65 mph or 68 mph on cruise control
  • Hauling dry van freight, with occasional refrigerated loads
  • Meeting or exceeding performance metrics, including on-time delivery and load refusal rates
  • Participating in regular safety inspections and maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and other team members

Benefits and Compensation
As a Company Driver with Decker, you can expect:

  • A competitive weekly gross pay of $1,000-$1,400
  • A performance-based monthly bonus of up to $0.05 cpm
  • Pay increases of $0.01 cpm at 90 days and annually on the anniversary date, up to a cap of $0.70 cpm
  • Per diem of $0.10 cpm, included in pay rate
  • Trailer washout pay of $15 per trailer
  • Stop pay of $15.00 per pickup and delivery, except load origin and final delivery
  • Detention pay of $20/hour for on-time delivery detention, capped at $200 each 24-hour period
  • Layover pay of $75 for 24 hours, and $100 for subsequent 24-hour periods
  • Breakdown pay of $100 for the first day, $150 for the second day, and $200 for third+ days
  • Short haul pay of $0.20 cpm for miles 0-50, $0.15 cpm for miles 51-100, $0.12 cpm for miles 101-150, $0.09 cpm for miles 151-200, $0.06 cpm for miles 201-250, $0.03 cpm for miles 251-300, and $0.02 cpm for miles 301+

Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Have a valid CDL A license
  • Have at least 6 months of experience as a truck driver
  • Be available for dispatch 5 days a week
  • Have a clean driving record and meet Decker's safety standards
  • Pass a pre-employment urinalysis and hair follicle drug test

Training and Support
Decker offers a comprehensive training program for new drivers, including:

  • A 4-week training schedule, consisting of 1 week in Orientation and 3 weeks with an OTR trainer
  • A daily stipend of $100 during training
  • Tuition reimbursement up to $6,000

Equipment and Amenities
As a Company Driver with Decker, you will have access to a fleet of well-maintained trucks, including Peterbilt 579, Volvo, and Freightliner Cascadia models. Each truck is equipped with:

  • APU, 1,800-watt Inverter, Free Wi-Fi, Smart TV with Satellite Programming, Microwave, Refrigerator, CB Radio, Satellite Radio Hook-ups

Location and Orientation
Orientation will take place in Fort Dodge, IA, and will last for 3 days. Decker will provide a rental vehicle, plane, or reimbursement for driving your own vehicle to and from Orientation.

Applicants must have either a complete physical within the last 6 months, certified for 6 months or longer and does not expire within the next 3 months; or complete a new physical ahead of time or when arriving to Orientation in Fort Dodge, IA.
