Job Overview

Combe Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial health and compliance of our multinational, multistate group of companies.

Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing income tax provisions, completing federal, state, and local tax returns, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. You will also have the opportunity to handle tax controversies, develop strategic tax planning initiatives, and provide invaluable tax insights to various business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze income tax provisions, including book/tax differences, deferred tax balances, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Complete federal, state, and local tax returns, as well as foreign income tax returns.
  • Lead annual extension and estimated tax payments, ensuring accurate accounting.
  • Review various informational returns and reports, including forms 5471 and 1042.
  • Assist in leading tax fixed and intangible assets, including tax depreciation and amortization analysis.
  • Coordinate US Research Tax Credit study and state tax apportionment data.
  • Respond to tax authority notices and audits, researching issues and preparing responses.
  • Research and document technical tax issues related to tax reporting and compliance.
  • Participate in special projects, including tax planning and tax M&A analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous.
  • Several years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a multinational organization.
  • Experience in managing tax fixed and intangible assets.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
  • Background in tax planning and M&A analysis is a plus.
