About the Role:
Housing Specialist I at SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOUTH PINELLAS is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about providing direct services to enable eligible clients to locate affordable, safe, and sanitary housing.

In this role, you will network with property owners, managers of housing units, and maintain a list of landlords that can readily assist our veterans. Your expertise in identifying and engaging landlords will be instrumental in developing sufficient affordable housing stock for Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) program.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and engage landlords through various methods
• Assist eligible families in locating and renting suitable housing
• Compute and prepare financing arrangements and monitor owner/tenant compliance with standards
• Maintain linkage between Agency, landlord, and client
• Develop and maintain a database/listing of available housing stock for clients
• Coordinate and/or perform Housing Inspections
• Make referrals to agencies and departments for the resolution of applicant housing issues
• Investigate tenant and owner complaints and conduct follow-up visits
• Make appropriate referrals for assistance when client's needs cannot be met
• Maintain required client, legal, and administrative record and statistical data as required by St. Vincent de Paul CARES and program funders including use of HMIS
• Collect all necessary documentation for client files
• Network and collaborate with other agencies and represent the agency at community functions, which may include public speaking and presentations as directed by Program Manager
• All other duties as assigned

About the Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking an individual with a bachelor's degree in social work or related field and minimum 2 years' experience serving homeless or at-risk families and/or individuals in crisis. You must have excellent communication and listening skills, ability to work under deadlines, multitask, and set appropriate limits. Additionally, you should possess strong work ethics, sensitivity to cultural diversity, and a commitment to serve all people with respect and compassion.

Benefits:
SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOUTH PINELLAS offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include 95% employer-paid employee-only coverage (zero deductible, $10 copay plan), 10k employer-paid basic life insurance, 120 hours PTO accrued biweekly starting at day 1 of employment, 13 paid holidays, various retention and referral bonuses, and flexible schedules in most positions.
