About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Licensed Practical Nurse (PACT). As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to our nation's veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems.
  • Work collaboratively with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the RN or physician.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the RN or physician.
  • Participate in patient education and counseling to promote healthy behaviors and disease management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
  • Current licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or outpatient clinic.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and computerized charting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
