Registered Nurse Role

Position Overview: Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Services, the Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering exceptional patient care, collaborating with fellow nursing personnel, and managing the designated unit during assigned shifts.

  • Conducts comprehensive patient evaluations utilizing the nursing process, formulates a care strategy, and works in conjunction with other departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of patient care and upholds precise medical records.
  • Oversees bedside care, administers prescribed medications, and guarantees the secure disposal of pharmaceutical waste.
  • Engages with physicians, patients, and families to provide emotional support and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Aids in the orientation of new personnel and exemplifies best practices as a role model when necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Completion of a nursing diploma, associate, or bachelor's degree is mandatory.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • Valid RN licensure in Tennessee is essential.
  • BLS and ACLS certification must be obtained during the orientation phase.
  • Additional certifications may be necessary.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of one year of recent hospital experience is required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong grasp of nursing principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and operational procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency is preferred.
