Job Title: Associate Fellow - China Power Project

CSIS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Fellow to join the China Power Project. The successful candidate will support the development of content for the China Power website and other publications, conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on issues pertaining to Chinese national power, and provide research and writing support to the Program Director and Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and write content for the China Power website and other publications
  • Conduct research and analysis on Chinese foreign and security policy, U.S.-China relations, and cross-Strait issues
  • Follow developments in China's foreign and domestic policy, U.S.-China relations, and cross-Strait relations
  • Curate complex datasets and provide research and writing support to the Program Director and Fellow
  • Support other projects as necessary
Requirements:
  • MA in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a PhD in a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues concerning Chinese foreign and security policy and international relations
  • Prior experience in data visualization and/or data-driven storytelling is strongly desired, but not required
  • Advanced proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets is required
What We Offer:

CSIS offers a competitive salary band of $65,000-$105,000 commensurate with experience, as well as a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
