Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Howard University Hospital is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' bodies. Your expertise will help diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' bodies.
  • Position patients and equipment to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and reactions to ultrasound procedures.
  • Summarize and present images, findings, and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
  • Adhere to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions, and standards.
  • Prepare rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure continuous improvement of services.
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree (AA) in Radiology or equivalent from a two-year college or hospital-based program.
  • Two (2) years' experience in Ultrasound desired.
  • ARDMS and BLS certification required. Certification in General, Vascular, and OBGYN desired.
