Core Responsibilities:

The Anesthesia Nurse Specialist is a licensed nursing professional who has successfully completed an accredited anesthesia training program and achieved certification. Working in conjunction with an attending anesthesiologist, the specialist provides comprehensive anesthesia care to patients. This role adheres to the Nurse Practice Act and departmental guidelines.

Primary Duties:
  • Conducts thorough pre-anesthetic assessments
  • Administers anesthesia in partnership with anesthesiologists
  • Monitors and adjusts patient physiological status during procedures
  • Transfers care responsibility post-operation
  • Ensures professional care until patient recovery is achieved
  • Administers various anesthesia modalities
  • Supports departmental protocols and procedures
  • Engages in other specialized tasks as required
  • Maintains professional interactions with colleagues and visitors

  • Punctually prepares for scheduled cases
  • Conducts patient interviews and assessments
  • Accurately documents patient information
  • Communicates effectively with the healthcare team
  • Performs approved clinical procedures
  • Collaborates with peers to meet departmental goals
  • Participates in departmental meetings and educational sessions
  • Maintains and calibrates monitoring equipment
  • Adapts to evolving departmental needs
  • Commits to high standards of care and supports management initiatives
