Responsibilities:
Gather baseline data and execute approved treatment plans using applied behavior analysis consistently; proficiently implement discrete trial teaching methods across diverse patients and functioning levels; adhere to the prompting hierarchy; apply reinforcement techniques effectively, using clear and consistent instructions; utilize prompt fading, shaping, and chaining techniques.
Assist the Outpatient Behavior Analyst in conducting functional behavior assessments, including record reviews and Functional Assessment Interviews, defining behaviors, selecting appropriate data collection methods, and summarizing environmental factors and medical history. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, troubleshoot issues, and provide generalization strategies for home, along with other elements of parent training as directed by the Outpatient Behavior Analyst.
Participate in required supervision with the Outpatient Behavior Analyst.Additional duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate's degree required; may be offset by 6 months of ABA experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Certifications:
Successful completion of coursework for Registered Behavior Technician Certification (RBT) is required.
Completion of 40-hour coursework prior to the start date and RBT competency assessment and exam within 30 days of employment.
Complexity of Work: Must be able to operate in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately in challenging situations.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to establish rapport with parents from diverse backgrounds.
Computer proficiency is essential.
Work Experience:
6 months of experience working with children with autism utilizing applied behavior analysis is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting students, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Physically capable of managing patients of varying weights and sizes.
Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Adheres to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as necessary.
