Role Summary:

As a skilled Occupational Therapist at Exalt Health, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life following illness, injury, or surgery. Your expertise will be invaluable in conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing tailored treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to address a wide range of patient needs. Your compassion and dedication will make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Teach patients how to perform daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility.
  • Support patients in developing functional skills, including strengthening, coordination, balance, and endurance.
  • Help patients develop cognitive skills, such as memory, attention, problem-solving, and reasoning.
  • Assist patients in acquiring pre-vocational or vocational skills, including returning to work or retraining for a new career.
  • Recommend home modifications or assistive devices to ensure a safe and successful transition back home.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to develop a comprehensive plan of care for each patient.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes to measure treatment effectiveness.
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies to maintain their improved function at home.
  • Stay current with the latest occupational therapy practices through ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • 2 years of Inpatient Rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Proficient in documentation and medical record keeping.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine.

Qualifications:
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice professional Occupational Therapy in the state where currently practicing.
  • Current BLS certification via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
