Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, using subjective and objective data sources to inform care decisions.
- Evaluate patient needs and establish nursing diagnoses, prioritizing care based on patient acuity and age.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, utilizing evidence-based practice and realistic measurable outcomes.
- Deliver high-quality patient care, assigning tasks to and observing care given by non-RN staff members.
- Evaluate patient care outcomes, assessing the level and timeliness of achievement, and communicating results to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and coordinate teaching plans, focusing on wellness, health maintenance, and restoration.
- Provide a safe environment for patients, based on their condition and age.
- Participate in nursing performance improvement and interdisciplinary research activities.
- Adhere to institutional policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
- Current licensure in NYS or eligibility for a limited permit to practice required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; candidates without a BSN will be required to start a program within 2 years of hire and complete by year 6 of employment.
- A minimum of 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
- Current BLS required.
- Current certification in ACLS, PALS, and NRP may be required depending on unit scope.
- Board Certification preferred.
Salary Range: $37.54-$53.18/hour
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
