Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced nurse to provide essential clinical and case management support to our patients in a short stay psychiatric observation unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Assess individuals experiencing psychiatric and/or behavioral high-risk crisis to ensure the safety of the patient, family, and community.
- Provide psychiatric/substance abuse consults to patients presenting to the emergency room, Healthplexes, urgent care, and/or IPAC.
- Make recommendations for the next level of care for patients and explore all resources available within Inova and throughout the community.
- Work closely with Community Service Board staff to ensure patient safety and appropriate care for patients being involuntarily detained.
- Master's Degree in Behavioral Science and Health or a related field.
- Two years' experience working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill.
- Licensed Mental Health Specialist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
