BAYADA Home Health Care is actively seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a per-diem role conducting home health visits. This position focuses on providing care to adult and elderly clients in their residences.

While prior experience in home care as a Speech Language Pathologist is advantageous, it is not mandatory. In this role, you will play a crucial part in a multidisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to delivering rehabilitative services and skilled nursing, enabling clients to receive essential medical care in the comfort of their homes.

Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist:

  • Conduct home visits to clients within assigned geographic areas.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to assess, diagnose, and implement therapeutic interventions for clients facing challenges with speech, language, communication, or swallowing.
  • Formulate a treatment plan grounded in the evaluation results, physician's directives, and established goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and adjust the speech therapy care plan, collaborating with BAYADA clinicians on the multidisciplinary care strategy as necessary.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, family members, or other representatives regarding rehabilitative care and activities that support the client's health, safety, and independence.
  • Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care management and services rendered, utilizing advanced electronic tools.

Qualifications for the Speech Language Pathologist:

  • A valid license as a Speech Language Pathologist in South Carolina.
  • Possession of a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or;
  • Completion of the educational requirements as evidenced by school transcripts or diplomas, along with relevant work experience necessary for certification, and awaiting the opportunity to take the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certification examination, or;
  • Fulfillment of the necessary educational and work experience requirements, as indicated by school transcripts or diplomas, and currently accumulating the supervised work experience required for certification.
  • Proficient computer skills; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
