Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Histology Technician to join our esteemed Histology Lab. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate processing and analysis of specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certification: ASCP certification is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in the histology specialty is required.
  • Work Schedule: The position operates on a night shift from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, with varying schedules.
  • Holiday Availability: Must be available to work during the Thanksgiving holiday if necessary.
Laboratory Duties

The Histology Technician will be responsible for:

  • Receiving specimens from surgical procedures.
  • Accessioning specimens into the Cerner system.
  • Collecting blocks from Pathology staff.
  • Processing tissue samples, including embedding, cutting, and staining slides.
Unit Specific Information

This position is located in the 705A Histology Lab, where you will engage with various aspects of Pathology, Cytology, and IHC. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our laboratory's operations and patient care.
