Job Title: Studio Engineer

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a highly skilled Studio Engineer to support the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms in the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Job Summary:

The Studio Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the uptime of the broadcast studio system, providing technical support to Senate staff, and developing training programs for Senate staff on basic troubleshooting diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure broadcast studio system uptime to enable time-sensitive, ad hoc press engagements and production requests.
  • Provide Senate staff with Broadcast System and Production expertise.
  • Develop training programs for Senate staff that include basic troubleshooting diagnostics.
  • Perform an initial baseline review and documentation of the technical environment.
  • Develop preventative maintenance programs and backup/redundancy Standard Operating Procedures to ensure system availability.
  • Researching, evaluating, testing, and making recommendations to the Sergeant at Arms on an on-going basis.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 15 years total experience, 5-8 years of relevant broadcast experience.
  • Broadcast Studio Production engineering, network engineering, systems maintenance, integration, graphics, office automation support, hardware/software troubleshooting, interfacing with hardware/support vendors, and some web development.
  • Security clearance level: All contract personnel must pass a United States Capitol Police background check.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Experience delivering to 'white glove' service standards in a professional broadcast production environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen or US Person (lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee) to be eligible to work on the contract.
