Key Responsibilities:- Patient Care: Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pediatric patients.
- Policies and Procedures: Work within Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pediatric patients.
- Tests and Procedures: Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and documentation, and communicate clinical findings to the healthcare team.
- Emergency Measures: Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Medical Records: Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records to support patient care and quality improvement initiatives.
- Communication: Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy, providing excellent customer service and communication to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Medication Administration: Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings to the healthcare team.
- Environment: Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Professional Development: Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, and attending in-services and workshops, staying current with industry developments and best practices.
- Patient Safety: Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols, and identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns to ensure a safe and high-quality patient care environment.
- Education: Nationally accredited nursing graduate, Bachelor's degree preferred, with a strong foundation in pediatric nursing and critical care.
- Experience: 1 year directly related experience, with a strong background in pediatric nursing and critical care, and bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Credentials: RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days, and current certifications in pediatric nursing and critical care.
- Physical Conditions: Heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly, with regular exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials requiring PPE.
- Working Conditions: Significant hazard: chemicals, biohazardous materials requiring PPE, with a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
