The Certified Ultrasound Technician plays a crucial role in conducting ultrasound assessments and effectively communicating findings to radiologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound assessments, addressing their concerns and inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate positioning and exposure by aligning patients and equipment appropriately.
  • Operate ultrasound machinery competently to generate high-quality images, adjusting settings for optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
  • Review and process images to uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians and medical personnel to follow diagnostic protocols.
Certified Ultrasound Technician Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework aimed at ARDMS Board certification.
  • Hands-on clinical ultrasound experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS Board certification required.
  • ARRT (R) and Vermont State Radiologic Technician license is advantageous.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
