Job Description

As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers, to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance while documenting all repairs and managing inventory. Ideal candidates have:

  • At least three years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
  • Independent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

You will also be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, comply with EPA and OSHA regulations, and communicate effectively with coworkers and drivers. A CDL A and DOT certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, rebuilding, replacing, and completing all required repairs on diesel equipment
  • Performing preventative maintenance within company standards
  • Completing documentation of all repair orders, PM list, and parts accountability
  • Handling road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed
  • Maintaining inventory and proper recordkeeping
  • Backing up other maintenance shop personnel
  • Assuming increased responsibility and certifications as needed
Work Schedule

This is a night shift role working Sunday through Thursday nights from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. You must be able to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and work overtime when required.
