Job Description:
As an Optical Engineer Associate, you will provide technical support on various aerospace programs, focusing on imaging systems spanning the UV to LWIR regions of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum. Your responsibilities will include design and analysis of optical systems and components, ensuring compliance with optical requirements and specifications. You will also perform tolerancing analyses to assess manufacturability and optical alignment, as well as provide optical modeling and metrology support during system alignment, integration, and testing. Additionally, you will support the development of optical technologies and architectural concepts to drive business opportunities.

Essential Functions:
1. Perform advanced optical design and analysis on telescopes, calibrators, and unique optical test sets, including design trade studies.
2. Develop optical budgets and sensitivities, including wavefront error, MTF, line of sight, and throughput.
3. Conduct analyses to demonstrate compliance with optical requirements and specifications for imaging systems, assemblies, component drawings, coatings, etc.
4. Perform tolerancing analyses to assess manufacturability and optical alignment.
5. Provide optical modeling, analysis, and metrology support during system alignment, integration, and testing.
6. Support the development of optical technologies and architectural concepts to drive business opportunities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics with 0 to 1 years of prior related experience.

Experience with Code V and/or Zemax software tools.

Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in optical design/modeling, systems trade studies, and analysis of remote sensing infrared and visible space qualified systems and components.

Experience in optical engineering or aerospace industry.

Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.

Knowledge of FRED, MATLAB, Python.

Exposure to Systems Engineering standards, processes, and disciplines.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $63,500 MIN - $117,500 MAX.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
