Job Summary

The University of Dayton seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director for Entrepreneurial Education in the Greater West Dayton Incubator (GWDI). This role will play a critical part in executing the University's strategy for a neighborhood incubation site in West Dayton, supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and creatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of entrepreneurial education initiatives in the GWDI, including connecting businesses and entrepreneurs to resources at UD and in the broader community.
  • Support community outreach, campus engagement, and entrepreneurial ecosystem coordination efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of the GWDI and the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership to advance the University's entrepreneurial mission.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
  • Provide coaching and support to small businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with at least three years of entrepreneurial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with the Greater West Dayton community needs and assets, as well as current barriers facing historically marginalized entrepreneurs.
  • Understanding of current community and university resources available to business owners and entrepreneurs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice, with a proven track record of promoting these values in professional and community settings.
  • Strong evidence of cultural intelligence and ability to establish cross-cultural relationships across multiple dimensions of diversity.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience in organizational leadership, with a focus on community engagement and entrepreneurial development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Three or more years of leadership experience in nonprofit, government, service sector, and/or entrepreneurial support organizations.
  • Case management or small business coaching experience.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged businesses and startups.
  • Neighborhood-based community engagement experience in West Dayton.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate multiple stakeholders with various interests and priorities.
