Job Summary

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist plays a vital role in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, providing clinical support and direction for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support and direction for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
  • Support the procedural team, scrubbing with the physician tableside or monitoring and documenting the case
  • Maintain competency in each role, utilizing evidence-based practices and research consistent with Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Radiologic Technologist scope of practice
  • Perform procedures effectively during call back, exercising appropriate judgment and utilizing resources
  • Account for patient assessment, gathering pertinent records, and anticipating changes to modify care delivered
  • Communicate effectively with hospital personnel, medical staff, patients, families, and outside resources
  • Ensure patient understanding and consent for procedures, providing education to increase patient and family knowledge
  • Participate in departmental staff meetings, assume responsibility for own continuing education, and maintain BLS/ACLS certification
Requirements
  • Graduate of a certificate or degree-granting program in a health science, such as cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or paramedic
  • Current Credentials with ARRT for Radiologic Technologist or RCIS for CVT, RRT, Paramedic
  • No previous CCL experience required, CCL experience highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT (CV) or RCIS, or previous CCL experience
  • Epic Cupid or Radiant preferred
  • Basic computer skills

This position is located at the Greenville Memorial Medical Campus, working in a fast-paced environment with a team of healthcare professionals.
