Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Repair Technician to join our team at Shottenkirk Automotive. As a Smog Emissions Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles to ensure they meet emissions standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair all areas/systems of assigned vehicles
  • Work with team members to accurately document recommendations, diagnoses, and repairs performed
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer's updates and training
  • Perform road tests and quality control of all work performed
  • Responsible for keeping the shop area neat, and clean, and accounting for all dealership-owned tools at all times
Requirements:
  • Valid California (CA) smog license
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Proficiency with tools and mechanical aptitude
  • Possess ability to accurately diagnose mechanical automotive problems and make recommendations
  • A good work ethic is a must
  • Factory training, ASE certifications or prior dealership experience is a plus
  • Must be able to keep up with a fast-paced environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident
  • Must pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, and drug screen
