Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Admissions-Intake Coordinator to join our team at Heartland Behavioral Health. As a key member of our intake department, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Manage decision trees and crisis calls to provide effective clinical data to our ACCESS Triage Nurse and Medical staff.
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and perform various duties related to working with families and referral sources for admission processes.
  • Support insurance and financial counseling functions to ensure timely payments and follow-up paperwork completion.
  • Work on a rotating schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage in the Intake Department.
Requirements and Skills
  • Graduate of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or social work with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in the mental health field.
  • Specific experience in admissions-intake department preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance verification, medical necessity requirements for both acute and residential treatment, and benefit plans.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other hospital-specific programs.
