About the Role:
Clinical Screeners at Northern Illinois University are responsible for conducting specialized assessments of children in substitute care and their former guardians. This role requires a high level of expertise in trauma-focused assessments, early childhood development, and substance abuse diagnosis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop DSM-5 diagnostic impressions based on assessment results
- Estimate violence potential and assess parenting capacity
- Conduct assessments to inform treatment planning and permanency plans for children
- Complete specialized reports used by treatment teams
- Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure child well-being

Minimum Requirements:
- Current Illinois LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist license
- Master's degree from a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling)

- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and empirically supported clinical practices
