Job Overview
ResponsiveEd (TX) is seeking a highly skilled School Health Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for promoting and protecting the optimal health status of school-age children.

About the Job
This position requires a qualified nurse with experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health nursing, or pediatric nursing. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to exercise professional judgment, and participate cooperatively in a program of school health nursing.

Salary and Benefits

Responsibilities and Duties
- Promote and protect the optimal health status of school-age children
- Provide health assessments and screenings
- Develop and implement student health plans
- Interpret health status to parents and school personnel
- Initiate referrals to parents, school personnel, or community health resources
- Utilize existing health resources to provide appropriate care
- Maintain, evaluate, and interpret cumulative health data
- Participate in home visits to assess family needs as related to the child's health
- Develop procedures and provide emergency nursing management for injuries/illnesses
- Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases
- Provide health education and anticipatory guidance

Requirements
- Qualified to practice as a licensed or registered nurse in the State of Texas
- Minimum of one year experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health nursing, or pediatric nursing
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with students, parents, administrators, and other school personnel
