Director of Operations Job Description
TAK Communications is seeking a highly skilled Director of Operations to lead our telecommunications drop bury projects in the Lynchburg, VA area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in telecommunications construction management and possess strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of drop bury operations, establish and maintain operational procedures, and develop relationships with key vendors and partners. With an ecosystem of partners, we successfully complete every project from conception to completion. This includes engineering teams, distributors, and over 100 qualified construction crews with extensive experience across all ISP types and markets; over 300 experienced bury drop crews; and more than 700 professional technicians.

$120,000 - $180,000 annually, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage financial performance, field operations, and workforce coordination.
  • Lead and mentor a team of leaders and field personnel.
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures, best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with utility companies, municipalities, and other stakeholders for permits and right-of-way access.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in telecommunications construction management or related field.
  • Experience with drop bury construction methods and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of P&L responsibility and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, fiber optics, wireless systems, and/or related technologies.
