Job Summary:
Lancaster General Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse RN to join our Observation Unit team. As a Registered Nurse RN in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients who require short-term observation and treatment. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients who require short-term observation and treatment
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and psychological needs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the healthcare team
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
- RN licensure issued by the PA Board of Nursing or a Temporary Practice Permit until an RN license is obtained
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an Observation Unit or similar setting
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice and quality improvement principles
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
