In the capacity of a Senior Traffic Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the design processes for roadway systems, including lighting, signage, pavement markings, traffic signals, and traffic management systems; conducting intersection design and capacity analyses.
  • Providing guidance on traffic control and sequencing plans during the construction phase of projects.
  • Acting as a recognized technical authority in specialized areas, addressing complex challenges while planning and executing projects that significantly influence major company initiatives.
  • Managing and directing the work of a medium to large team of professionals and technicians as required.
  • Taking on project management responsibilities for larger initiatives, while maintaining a focus on engineering tasks.
  • Mentoring and leading mid-level and junior engineers to enhance their professional development.
  • Contributing to the growth and advancement of traffic engineering expertise within the organization.
  • Performing additional duties as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in related sectors such as toll road operations, roadway design, or construction management is advantageous.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with local experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic engineering for both urban and rural settings, including major and minor interchanges and intersections.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Familiarity with state and federal transportation regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with software tools such as HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic, and other relevant applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
