In our Acute Care Services, we focus on the holistic mental and physical health of our clients within a supportive group home environment. The Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) play a critical role in safeguarding client welfare and ensuring adherence to medical protocols. This position is full-time, Monday to Friday, during the first shift.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Nursing License in Alabama
- Preferred minimum of two years of nursing experience
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Uphold the organization's care philosophy, professional ethics, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Implement the nursing process for assessing, planning, and delivering client care.
- Document client interactions in our Electronic Medical Records System.
- Coordinate with local laboratories for lab test requisitions and results.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately.
- Conduct mental health assessments in the absence of a provider, focusing on various psychological and physical indicators.
- Oversee medication management, including effectiveness assessments and side effect monitoring.
- Educate clients and their families about medications, potential interactions, and the importance of adherence.
- Facilitate psychoeducation groups as directed by supervisory staff.
- Manage medication samples and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and collaborate with team members regarding client health.
- Assist with injection clinics and complete necessary authorizations and forms.
- Perform additional nursing duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Additional Information:
- Maintain active licensure in Alabama.
- Ensure timely completion of documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Demonstrate effective multitasking and communication skills, particularly on busy clinic days.
- Ability to navigate the facility and remain composed in emergency situations.
- Foster a safe environment and uphold quality care standards through adherence to established protocols.
- Complete tasks as delegated by management.
