Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs echocardiography procedures on patients, selecting and using transducers according to anatomy and differentiating normal and abnormal structures.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice, monitoring patient condition and reporting changes in status.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshooting and resolving equipment malfunctions.

Requirements:

  • Registered Sonographer
