Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct healthcare services to eligible individuals, adhering to the self-governance compact and funding agreement between the Cherokee Nation and the United States.
- Monitor health status to identify and solve individual, family, and community health problems.
- Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community.
- Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues.
- Mobilize community partnerships and action to identify and solve health problems.
- Develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts.
- Enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety.
- Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of healthcare when otherwise unavailable.
- Assure a competent public and personal healthcare workforce.
- Evaluate the effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal and population-based health services.
- Research new insights and innovative solutions to health problems.
- Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school in Nursing.
- Additional one year of nursing experience preferred.
- Must possess a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or a multistate RN license accepted by the OBN.
- Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS).
- Valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
