Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiology Registered Nurse to join our team at Memorial Hospital of Gardena. As a key member of our interventional radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform specialized nursing duties, such as administering IV sedation or analgesia during special procedures.
  • Assess infusaports, insert foleys, and help patients with their personal needs.
  • Inform the technologist or radiologist of any unusual patient needs and perform PICCs, Midlines, and assist the radiologist when needed.
  • Monitor and document patients during scans, including those requiring anesthesia.
  • Teach patients and their families, students, technologists, other nurses, radiologists, and physicians about patient care and new nursing policies.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and infection control programs, collecting data, keeping records, and reporting results.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of current experience in area applying for.
  • Moderate Sedation certification.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, and PC skills.
  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, and collaborate with team members.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current professional RN license issued and/or recognized by the state Board of Nursing for the State of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • PICC Line certification preferred.
