Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer will serve as a primary resource for the mechanical engineering program team, overseeing the mechanical development and production engineering of data center storage solutions, including hard drives, solid-state drives, cooling systems, power units, and high-speed electronic interfaces.

Given the intricate interdependencies of these systems, the ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical engineering knowledge, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the capability to design or modify systems to meet specific shock and vibration standards, and the application of tolerance analysis techniques.

Additional design considerations may include thermal management, electromagnetic interference reduction, and acoustic performance. The engineer may function as an individual contributor or lead multiple projects, guiding the efforts of other team members.

Qualifications:
The candidate should have a comprehensive background in various aspects of mechanical engineering, complemented by strong analytical capabilities and innovative problem-solving skills.

In this role, the engineer will collaborate with the functional project representative for mechanical design and analysis, working closely with peers within the development or production engineering teams.

Moreover, you will be involved in design evaluations, responsible for monitoring timelines, addressing challenges, and liaising with both domestic and international suppliers and manufacturing facilities.

As a lead engineer, you will oversee the formulation and implementation of testing protocols, culminating in reports that validate the design integrity in your areas of responsibility.

Project teams will consist of cross-disciplinary engineers with expertise in electrical, mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing domains. In this capacity, you will mentor and enhance the skills of junior engineers.

The candidate will design and assess mechanical systems in both theoretical and practical contexts, influence packaging design, and utilize the engineering change management system to formally release design documentation into Agile.

Conduct feasibility assessments and testing on new and revised designs. Guide support staff in the creation of detailed designs, testing procedures, and prototype development. Provide design specifications to packaging engineering for documentation purposes. Leverage existing knowledge or learn to use tools such as JIRA, Agile, and Microsoft Office Suite.
