Manual Machinist

MP Equipment, LLC is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team in producing high-quality machined parts using manual machining equipment and following prints.

• Complete work travelers by following operation procedures and accurately machining parts per work instructions and drawings.
• Correctly clock all time associated with set up and machining of parts to the correct job.
• Inspect parts per inspection procedure: QC 1 every 5 parts.
• Accurately fill out all travelers for production quantities, scrap, and material used, adding date and initials.
• Keep machines in good working condition, following a preventative maintenance schedule, proper coolant levels, condition of components, and cleanliness.
• Maintain and organize staging areas for future jobs.
• Prepare for future jobs by setting up tools, clamps, vices, and fixtures while the machine is running when possible.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times and utilize the provided barcode at the end of shift to complete the Manual machining daily checklist for housekeeping.
• Assist the machine shop in other functions when caught up on work travelers.
• Assist with machine maintenance when necessary.
• Perform other related duties/projects as assigned.

• Proficient with operating manual mill/lathes.
• Proficient with various gages and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret prints.
• Strong understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
• Strong understanding of material properties.
• Attentive to all safety precautions when operating machines.
