Mechanical Design Specialist

ColdFlo Mechanical is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the design and development of innovative refrigeration systems for diverse industrial applications.

As a key member of our engineering department, you will collaborate closely with engineers, estimators, and project managers to create detailed drawings and documentation that ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise in AutoCAD and MEP standards will be instrumental in delivering high-quality designs that meet the specific needs of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive MEP drawing sets using AutoCAD, incorporating information provided by engineers, estimators, clients, manufacturers, and collaborators.
  • Assist in dimensioning and layout to produce precise shop fabrication drawings for piping prefabrication projects.
  • Coordinate with various departments and clients to ensure the accuracy of As-Built Drawings following project completion.
  • Create and maintain detailed Refrigeration System Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support Project Managers by organizing and tracking equipment submittal documents.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, 3D, and MEP software is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings from all disciplines is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, MS Project) is beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure are highly valued.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Engineering Computer Aided Drafting Certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in MEP Construction Drafting and Design is preferred.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technologies is a plus.

Experience in Industrial Refrigeration, knowledge of Ammonia piping, and IIAR standards is a significant advantage.
