About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Interstate Waste Services, Inc. in Bernardsville, NJ. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of heavy-duty diesel equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel heavy trucks and engines
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
  • Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign necessary repairs
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Meet or exceed safety and quality standards
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working on heavy-duty diesel equipment
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing DPF systems, diagnostic software, and other related systems
  • Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
