About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Interstate Waste Services, Inc. in Bernardsville, NJ. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of heavy-duty diesel equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel heavy trucks and engines
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
- Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign necessary repairs
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Meet or exceed safety and quality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience working on heavy-duty diesel equipment
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing DPF systems, diagnostic software, and other related systems
- Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
