Job Summary

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent for examinations.
  • Explain procedures to patients and families, and answer questions to ease anxiety and ensure patient cooperation.
  • Identify patients and their files with a high degree of accuracy, and track patients according to department procedures.
  • Demonstrate patient safety in the department by using side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring.
  • Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
Requirements
  • Licensure: None required
  • Certification: American Registered Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARDMS, RDMS, or RVT certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or registry eligibility with certification within 18 months from date of hire.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of Specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
